Current Projects:

• Evolution of the androconial scales in Neotropical Satyrinae

I have a B.S degree in Biology from Universidade Estadual de Feira de Santana (2010). MSc (2013) and PhD (2017) in Biology with emphasis in Entomology from Universidade Federal do Paraná. During my PhD course, I got an international PhD internship at Natural History Museum, London, UK (2014-2015). I worked at Laboratório de Estudos de Lepidoptera Neotropical (2011-2017) where I developed expertise in inventory, museum management and curatorship, morphology, taxonomy and systematic of Lepidoptera, with emphasis in Satyrinae butterflies. I am responsible for manage information on Satyrinae at the project “Taxonomic Catalogue of Brazilian Fauna”.
My research projects focus primarily on systematics of Satyrinae butterflies (Nymphalidae). That includes taxonomy and phylogenetic studies using an integrative approach between morphological and molecular evidence. Currently, my postdoctoral research intends to investigate the evolution of the androconial scales in Neotropical Satyrinae.
