Flávia Maria Darcie Marquitti
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Genetics, Evolution, Microbiology and Immunology at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Campinas, SP, Brazil. I am a biologist and an applied mathematician. I am the former Scientific Coordinator of the Training Program in Quantitative Biology and Ecology - Instituto Serrapilheira.
I am interested in applications of mathematics in ecological and evolutionary complex systems. In my research, I am investigating how different species form, go extinct and hybridize with and without the effect of spatial configuration and ecological interactions. I am also interested in understanding how rate of change can induce important transititions in eco-evolutionary systems. Other Interests: Swimming, traveling, and good food |

Amanda Barreto Campos
I am PhD Student in the Department of Ecology at the Universidade de São Paulo, SP, Brazil. I have a biology degree and a masters degree in ecology from the Universidade Federal da Bahia, Salvador, BA, Brazil. I am interested in investigating how ecological communities change in space and time. In my masters I investigated how environmental factors shape microbial communities across diverse ecosystems. In my PhD I investigate how the rate of environmental change influences the structure of coral reef communities.

Miguel Piovesana Pereira Romeiro
I am a master's student in Ecology at the Universidade de São Paulo, SP, Brazil. As an undergrad, I have studied the natural history of ants and their reproduction using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) to unveil causal processes. Now, during my Master's, I am interested in understanding how global climate changes (especially warming and oceanic surface water density changes) will affect the ranges and distribution of Western South Atlantic mangrove forests. My passion for biology lies in the diverse genetic, ecological and evolutionary processes, spanning from macro- to micro-scales. I believe that with varied methods and a blend of curiosity and creativity, research can achieve new frontiers.

Nicole Riatto Victor
I am a Master's student in Ecology at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (Unicamp). I also hold a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Unicamp, during which I developed research projects in the fields of trophic allometry, movement ecology, and dendroecology. During my Master's, I study the evolution of polymorphisms in rock-paper-scissors systems. I am particularly interested in Evolutionary Game Theory, behavioral evolution, and mathematical and computational modeling. I believe that models can be powerful tools for understanding life and how it works.

Igor Norbiatto
I am a Master's student in Ecology at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (Unicamp). I earned both my Bachelor's and Teaching degrees in Biological Sciences from Unicamp. My research focuses on theoretical ecology and evolutionary biology, using mathematical models to investigate how habitat fragmentation affects diversification processes such as speciation, hybridization, and extinction. More broadly, I am interested in understanding how spatial structure influences the origin and maintenance of biodiversity.

Heitor Lopes de Castro
I am a PhD student in the Graduate Program in Ecology at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (Unicamp). I earned my bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences and my master's degree in Ecology, Conservation, and Wildlife Management from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG). In my PhD research, I am interested in understanding why different ant lineages exhibit such distinct speciation rates and how ant species with high ecological niche overlap are able to coexist.
